Whales Painting Services · Project Case Study
Customer: Becky | Location: East Knoxville | Completed in: 1 day
In East Knoxville, a worn covered porch floor received a fresh gray coating. The project was completed in one day, and the customer was very happy with the result. These project photographs show the existing surface and the newly coated floor, with the same siding, columns and porch details visible in both views.

The original porch floor had extensive wear in its existing coating, leaving a patchy mix of gray and exposed lighter areas. The surrounding yellow siding, white trim and dark column bases provided clear boundaries for the floor work.
This project focused on recoating the porch floor. The starting photograph shows the worn surface and a scraping tool in the work area. The later photograph shows paper and tape protecting the base of the siding where it meets the floor. Those edges matter when applying a fresh floor coating beside existing finishes.
The later photograph shows a substantially more uniform gray floor finish across the covered porch. The fresh coating gives the walking surface a cleaner, more consistent appearance while retaining the surrounding porch features. The photograph was taken with masking still in place, documenting the freshly coated stage.
For a porch-floor estimate, share photographs of peeling areas, the floor material and approximate size. Tell us about drainage or moisture concerns and how the porch is used so we can assess the existing coating and preparation needs.
